Context
In the spring 2020 VUB bank just as many as other big companies was forced to fully reorganize its operation due to Covid-19 outbreak and following governmental restrictions.
To give their employees tools and support necessary to acclimatise to the change as smoothly as possible the internal communication campaign started.
Task
Create a series of illustrations across a period of several months to accompany informational tips & tricks on surviving while working from home & in isolation. Portray scenes from daily lives of VUB employees in a humorous and positive way to bring them some optimism in uneasy times.
Illustration style
I was going for cute & homey feeling quite the opposite to typical cold vector style often used when illustrating for banks and other financial institutions. So I decided to use linework and go for sketch-like dynamic feeling with dark green for the drawing line and bright colours from extended company colour palette to accompany it. I also added handmade textures to objects and clothes of the characters for some extra cosy feeling.
Icons for the intranet for VUB employees
With the constantly changing rules and regulations around COVID, the first part of the task was to make it easy for employees to access new information in timely manner. For that the set of icons was created to make it easy to navigate through the information & keep up with all the changes & updates.
